BreakEven Life (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides coaching, programs, and digital resources. We manage personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme. Where relevant (e.g., EU/UK clients), we align our practices with GDPR principles.
1) What we collect
Identity & contact: name, email, phone, pronouns, timezone, city/region.
Client intake & coaching context: goals, challenges, session notes, assessments, reflections. We avoid health information; if sensitive details are needed for coaching, we only record what you voluntarily provide for a clear purpose.
Billing & transactions: payment confirmations, invoices, receipts (payments handled by third-party processors; we don’t store full card details).
Marketing preferences: newsletter opt-ins/outs and interaction data.
Usage data & cookies: site analytics, advertising pixels, device/browser info, events like page views and form submissions.
Scheduling & communications: calendar bookings, video sessions, emails/messages.
We collect information directly from you, from your activity on our site/links, and—if you authorize it—via tools you connect.
2) Why we collect it
Deliver and improve coaching and support.
Schedule sessions; manage accounts, billing, and receipts.
Send service emails and (only if you opt in) newsletters and offers.
Personalize content and measure usefulness via analytics.
Meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations.
Sensitive information (if any) is collected only with consent and for a clear coaching purpose.
3) Basis for handling your data
Under the APPs, we collect, use, and disclose personal information for the purposes above (or related, reasonably expected purposes) or as permitted/required by law. For EU/UK clients, bases may include consent, contract performance, and legitimate interests.
4) Disclosure to third parties
We use reputable providers for hosting, analytics, email/SMS delivery, scheduling and video, payment processing, and CRM. We share only what’s necessary and bind providers by contract. Where data is stored/processed overseas (e.g., US/EU), we take reasonable steps to ensure substantially similar protections.
We do not sell personal information.
5) Data storage, security, and retention
We apply access controls and encryption in transit (HTTPS) and use industry-standard safeguards. We retain data only as long as needed for coaching, legal, and tax purposes, then de-identify or securely destroy it.
6) Your choices: marketing, cookies, analytics
Emails: Unsubscribe via any marketing email.
Cookies/analytics: Manage cookies in your browser; disabling some may limit functionality.
Ad preferences: Adjust settings on platforms like Meta and Google.
7) Access and correction
You can request access to the personal information we hold and ask for corrections if it’s inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. We’ll respond within a reasonable period consistent with the APPs. GDPR-style rights may apply to EU/UK clients.
8) Data breaches
If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will promptly assess and, where required under the NDB scheme, notify affected individuals and the OAIC and provide guidance on protective steps.
9) Children
Our services are designed for adults. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
